Programme Notes

Arkansas is one of de Haan’s pieces named after American states. The score says it was commissioned by the Dutch National Brass Band Championships in 2009. It is a three-movement suite on a folk tune from Arkansas, which is heard in several styles, including a ballad and a blues, before returning in its plain form at the end.

Publisher’s programme note: Hal Leonard
